833-piece proof mintage survives for the 1888 Morgan dollar -- only
a tiny number of coins compared to the 19+ million-piece
circulation strikes. This attractively toned Premium Gem example
enjoys flashy-mirrored fields and softly frosted devices for
exceptional surface quality and eye appeal. Like most of the 1888
proofs, there is a small area of weakness above Liberty's ear, yet
all else is sharp. Blue, rose, violet, and ivory-gold colors help
