Difficult to Obtain in All Grades

1886-S 10C MS66 PCGS. CAC. The 1886-S dime, coming from a relatively small mintage of a little over 206,000 pieces, is a difficult issue to obtain in all grades. Indeed, PCGS and NGC have seen only 130 specimens in all levels of preservation. The two services have graded 18 Premium Gems and 11 examples finer. Lustrous surfaces are silver-gray on the obverse of this MS66, joined by soft powder-blue on the reverse. The design elements are well-impressed, including Liberty's head that is typically weak. Devoid of significant marks. Population: 9 in 66 (2 in 66+), 6 finer (7/14).(Registry values: N1)
