Description

Guadalajara. Ferdinand VII gold 8 Escudos 1821 Ga-FS AU55 NGC, Guadalajara mint, KM161.1, Onza-1205. Decidedly choice for the designation with scant high-point friction evidence, highly lustrous surfaces and very sharply struck for the type with delicate and gorgeous orangish toning. The only relatively available type for the Guadalajara colonial gold issues, yet conditionally very rare and most desirable in this superb preservation. Two pieces have been certified higher by NGC and three others have been assigned with the same numerical grade, yet certainly very few can match the present's piece eye-appeal. A superb type coin, superior to the Norweb, Gerber, Eliasberg and Caballero specimens!
