Splendid Peach-Red Color

1853 1C N-3, R.1, MS65 Red PCGS. CAC. Grellman Die State b. A lustrous orange-gold Gem. The strike is crisp despite a mint-made orange-peel texture to the fields, characteristic of long-in-use dies. Marks are essentially absent and carbon is inconsequential except for a small spot between the AM in AMERICA. Most high grade 1853 cents are N-25 or N-13. Our EAC grade MS64. Population: 69 in 65 (1 in 65+) Red, 16 finer. CAC: 9 in 65, 2 finer (11/16).
