1652 Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet, No Pellets at Trunk,
Noe-2, W-700, Salmon 2-C, R.5 -- Repaired -- PCGS Genuine. XF
Details. 61.41 grains. The "Straight Tree" variety, named after
the orderly, parallel branches on the Pine Tree. A richly detailed
example, clipped at the Boston Mint to an oval shape favoring NEW
and the SET in MASATHVSETS. Other peripheral letters are partial.
Toned orange-gold and rose-red with glimpses of ice-blue and
forest-green. The fields show subtle signs of smoothing, and the
field near the tree is lightly granular. Listed on page 36 of the
2025 Guide Book.Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 12/2019), lot 3485.
