Description

1908-D Quarter, MS67
Tied for Finest at PCGS

1908-D 25C MS67 PCGS. CAC. The new Guide Book of Barber Silver Coins relates that Gem 1908-D quarters are "rare in relation to the generous mintage." At this level, however, they become rare in the absolute sense of the term. Beautiful shades of rose, violet, orange, blue, and green combine across the surfaces of this mesmerizing Superb Gem quarter. The colorful overlay fails to inhibit radiant satin luster from shining through, illuminating sharply detailed devices. A couple of the right obverse stars, the right talon, and fletchings show traces of incompleteness, but the impeccable preservation and eye appeal more than compensate for those typical deficiencies. Population: 4 in 67 (1 in 67+), 0 finer (1/16).(Registry values: N2998)
