Description
Miguel I gold 2 Escudos (1/2 Peça) 1828 MS63 NGC, Lisbon mint, KM387, Fr-137. Mintage: 242. An impressive representative of this minuscule issue boasting semi-Prooflike surfaces with gleaming fields and standing as the second finest recorded by NGC after a single MS64.Miguel I usurped the throne during Peter IV's absence (as emperor Pedro I of Brazil), leading the latter to abdicate to the Brazilian throne in 1831 to support his daughter against Miguel.
