George IV gold Proof 1/2 Sovereign 1821 PR64 Cameo NGC, Royal mint, KM681, S-3802, WR-244. A lovely piece, and not often encountered. In the past decade we have only handled two other examples of this particular Wilson & Rasmussen number. The first was sold in 2007 and was Ex. Norweb Collection, and the second was sold in 2014 as part of the Eric P. Newman Collection. Most other examples that have come to market recently have also been in major collections at one point or another, suggesting that this is a type that belongs in a significant world gold coin collections. Mirrored surfaces and attractive cameo contrast gives this coin exceptional eye appeal.
