Description

1889-CC Morgan Dollar, MS63
Captivating in Every Respect

1889-CC $1 MS63 PCGS. VAM-2. Ex: Desert Find. Brilliant and radiant mint luster washes over each side of this sharply struck piece, yielding eye appeal typically associated with higher-graded coins. Such is a trend with the Desert Find pieces. A few light grazes scattered over obverse leave the reverse largely pristine with just a few small field grazes. Appreciable reflectivity in the fields amplifies the eye appeal, but this piece would be a strong MS63 coin even with frosty luster only. Moreover, it is yet to be reviewed by CAC.

The VAM-2 date crack immediately identifies the variety on this piece, while diagnostic die lines elsewhere confirm the attribution. On the reverse, peripheral cracks run along the top of UNITED STATES but leave the right hand border uncracked. Finer 1889-CC Morgans are rarely seen.(Registry values: P9, N4719)
