Description

1889-CC Morgan Dollar, MS63
Frosty and Eye-Appealing

1889-CC $1 MS63 PCGS. VAM-5. Ex: Desert Find. The luster is frosty on this Select example, and the coin is mostly brilliant with an ivory-white hue, save for freckles of russet in the reverse margins. The strike is bold, and the radiant cartwheel effect spans both sides rim-to-rim. Light grazes and marks on the obverse portrait and in the field determine the grade but are not bothersome to the naked eye. In fact, the coin is quite pleasing for the MS63 level, even as it is yet unseen by CAC for review.

VAM-5 displays the same state of the dies as the other VAM-5 pieces in the Desert Find group, with the reverse crack running through ONE but not connecting to DOLLAR. This variety is typically seen frosty, as here.(Registry values: P9, N4719)
