Description
1892-CC Double Eagle, MS61
Gorgeous Orange-Gold Patina
1892-CC $20 MS61 PCGS. Winter 1-A. Yellow to orange-gold
surfaces are blanketed with significant luster. Gunmetal and
charcoal abrasions are not individually notable, but do add
significantly to the coin's patina. The strike leaves few details
up to the viewer's imagination. The Carson City Mint reopened in
1889 and did mint double eagles that year, making for a five year
run of late issues until it was closed for good in 1893. The 1892
is directly in the middle mintage-wise with a production of
27,265.(Registry values: N2998)From The Rockhampton Collection.
