Description
1861 Double Eagle, MS61
Attractively Smooth Surfaces
1861 $20 MS61 PCGS. The 1861 is a plentiful Type One double
eagle, but Mint State pieces are in high demand. This MS61 coin is
remarkably clean for the grade, showing no bothersome abrasions.
Only light contact on Liberty's cheek limit the grade. Frosty
orange-gold luster cartwheels freely around each side, illuminating
well-struck design elements. Eye appeal exceeds all expectations
for the grade.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 269G, PCGS# 8932, Greysheet# 9797)
Weight: 33.44 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
