Description

1941 Walking Liberty Half Dollar, PR68
Designer's Initials Missing

1941 50C PR68★ NGC. CAC. No AW. Lovely pastel shades of ice-blue, rose-red, lime-green, and honey-gold toning adorn the obverse of this magnificent PR68★ Walking Liberty half dollar. The devices are pinpoint-sharp and the surfaces are impeccably preserved. The high quality within the grade is confirmed by CAC. As is the case with a majority of 1941 proofs, the designer's monogram is absent, inadvertently removed when the reverse die was lapped at the Mint prior to coinage. NGC has certified only three numerically finer examples. CAC: 31 in 68, 0 finer (11/22).
