THRACIAN KINGDOM. Lysimachus (305-281 BC). AR tetradrachm (30mm,
17.11 gm, 10h). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 3/5, brushed. Aenus, ca.
280s-260s BC. Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, with
horn of Ammon / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧOΥ, Athena seated left, Nike in
right hand crowning royal name, resting left elbow on shield
decorated with lion head boss, transverse spear beyond; palm branch
in outer left field, enthroned cult image facing above in inner
left field. Thompson -, cf. 257. Müller-, cf. 114. A rare type with
shimmering fields and graceful style.
