French Colony Proof Piastre 1889-A PR65 PCGS, Paris mint,
KM5, Gad-34, Lec-271. Mintage: 100. An absolute show-stopper from
French Indo-China, where Proofs of any denomination are hotly
contested, but especially so at the Piastre level. Only a handful
of this date have attained both a superior conditional assignment
and visual caliber, elevated by polychromatic hues that glisten
upon illumination, revealing a complete lack of distracting marks
to confirm the grade. Certainly among the best examples of this
type this cataloger has handled and worthy of advanced
