Description

1911-D Half Eagle, AU58
Mintage of 72,500 Coins

1911-D $5 AU58 NGC. The mintmark appears faintly on this semikey Denver Mint half eagle. The important thing is that it is present, confirming this coin derives from a low mintage of 72,500 pieces. Olive-gold color is deeper on the reverse. Strike softness occurs on the lower headdress feathers and the tip of the eagle's wing, as usual. Lightly hairlined, but otherwise in above-average condition.
