Description

1783 COPPER Washington & Independence Cent, Draped Bust, No Button, Copper Restrike, Plain Edge PR66 Brown PCGS. Baker-3C, Vlack 14-J, W-10310, Musante GW-106B, Low R.7. The obverse features pale blue and plum-violet colors when rotated beneath a light, while rose, powder-blue, and olive-gold hues grace the reverse. This sharply struck Premium Gem is exceptionally preserved. A few freckles of die rust are as made. British coin dealer W. J. Taylor struck this issue around 1860. Listed on page 92 of the 2019 Guide Book.
