1824/2 10C Flat Top 1, JR-1, R.3, MS64 PCGS. By far the more common of two known varieties, with an underdigit beneath the 4 (presumably a 2) and a flat-top 1 in the denomination. Richly toned in autumn-gold, blue, and deep-brown shades, each side of this near-Gem is sharply struck except at the centers, where the eagle's neck and Liberty's neck curls are weak. Marks are few and far between, none of which are large or distracting. Population: 9 in 64 (1 in 64+), 1 finer. 3 in 64, 2 finer (3/20).
