1923-S 25C MS63 NGC....
Description
1923-S Quarter Dollar, MS63
Exceptional for the Grade
1923-S 25C MS63 NGC. The 1923-S, being a semikey date, is
among the top dates in the series that many collectors seek in a
while range of grades. Often, the focus is less on finding a
high-grade piece and more on finding a high-end coin within the
grade that their budget permits. For MS63, this 1923-S was clearly
cherrypicked by our consignor. It exhibits neither heavy abrasions
nor the slight high-point "rub" contact that is so common to
lower-grade Uncirculated coins. The ridge of Liberty's leg is
appears untouched to the naked eye, and under a loupe there are
only a few faint lines seen to disturb the satiny luster. On the
reverse, some light field marks likely determine the grade.
Ivory-white luster overall complements an above-average strike,
where Liberty's head is sharp at the temple and weak only at the
ear. The shield rivets are nearly full.(Registry values: N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 243K, PCGS# 5744, Greysheet# 5585)
