Description
1943 1C Lincoln Cent--Struck on a Dime Planchet, Scratched, Cleaned--ANACS. VF Details, Net Fine 12. The strike is slightly uncentered toward 11 o'clock, with IN GOD WE partly off the flan. Cloudy from a moderate cleaning, and three noticeable pinscratches in the right obverse field are from an ill-advised test for silver plating. Of course, the famous zinc-plated steel cents were struck in 1943.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2005), lot 2641, which realized $1,150.
