Description

1916 Half Dollar, MS65
Billowing Satiny Luster

1916 50C MS65 PCGS. Satiny luster covers mostly untoned surfaces, save for a hint of russet around the characteristically flat rims. Strike is excellent, with most of the hand detail visible, as well as the surrounding ribbons. The 1916 was the first year of issue of the new Walking Liberty design, although the coins did not enter circulation until January 17, 1917. This mirrors other issues of the time, such as the Peace Dollar, which did not enter circulation until January 3, 1922.(Registry values: N1793)
