Description

1920-S Buffalo Nickel, MS64
Sharp for the Issue and Grade

1920-S 5C MS64 PCGS. One of the great strike rarities of the series, the 1920-S is seldom sharp and essentially unavailable with full details. This example is far above average in that regard, although some flowlines and peripheral weakness exist. The centers are strong in comparison, with crisp hair definition and reasonably sharp details on the bison. Lustrous golden toning with vibrant, violet accents add substantially to the visual impression. PCGS reports just 28 numerically finer examples (5/18).(Registry values: N2998)
