Description

1928-S Lincoln Cent, MS65 Red
Seldom Offered This Fine

1928-S 1C MS65 Red PCGS. A delightful Gem Red example of this conditionally challenging San Francisco issue, struck from a remarkably early die state with none of the distracting metal flow typically seen on branch mint issues from this era. The O in ONE is slightly soft, but the coin is otherwise well-defined without any obtrusive spots evident on either side. The 1928-S cent (17.2 million coins) is usually seen no better than MS64 in any color category. This MS65 Red representative should garner considerable attention from specialists. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 72 in 65 (14 in 65+) Red, 5 finer (10/22).(Registry values: N1793)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22CT, PCGS# 2593, Greysheet# 1912)
