1888/7 Cent, AU Details
Coveted Snow-1 Overdate
1888/7 1C Snow-1, FS-301 -- Lacquer -- PCGS Genuine. AU
Details. PCGS has only attributed 72 examples of this
sought-after Guide Book variety. The bottom tip of a 7 is
visible at the base of the second 8, although the chief pick-up
point for the variety is a small rim cud at 9 o'clock on the
obverse. This AU-level chocolate-brown example has been lightly
lacquered -- as was once a common practice -- but shows no other
impairments. Light marks are consistent with the grade.
