Description

Elizabeth II Proof "V.I.P." 5 Shillings (Crown) 1960 PR66 NGC, KM909, S-4143. V.I.P. issue. Mintage: 30-50 struck. British Exhibition "VIP" issue, distinguished by a deep strike and high, squared-off rims. The occurrence of two high-quality examples of this issue in the same sale should by no means be mistaken for wide attainability, as this fleeting variant saw only up to a few dozen examples struck in total, making two gems in the same sale an unusual event! Fully struck and lightly patinated in silver, with immense reflectivity in the fields and not a single handling instance worthy of mention.
