Description
1796 LIKERTY Half Dime, XF40
V-1, LM-1, Colorfully Toned
1796 H10C LIKERTY, V-1, LM-1, R.3, XF40 PCGS. LM-1 is the
more plentiful of the two 1796 half dime varieties, although it is
still scarcer than the 1797 date as a whole, which is the only
other Draped Bust, Small Eagle issue. LM-1 has a broken top on the
B in LIBERTY, earning it the LIKERTY moniker, even though the
malformed letter does not really resemble a K in the strictest
sense. This lightly circulated example displays pleasing central
detail, smooth surfaces, and vivid multicolor toning.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 22ZX, Variety PCGS# 38596, Base PCGS# 4254)
