Resplendent Novodel Ducat

Anna gold Novodel Ducat 1738 MS63 NGC, Moscow mint, KM-NL9, Bitkin-H7 (R2), Fr-106. 3.63gm. Oblique Milled Edge. A bold, crisply executed Novodel Ducat featuring a tremendously sharp portrait of the Empress Anna Ivanovna. The Trade coinage of Imperial Russia is consistently among the most demanded types for serious collectors. The needlepoint detail of this Choice Mint-State piece is accompanied by semi-Prooflike brilliance that is thoroughly impressive. MS63 is the finest grade awarded to a 1738 Novodel Ducat by NGC, and PCGS has yet to award a grade this high. The two diagonal blemishes on the reverse are slightly distracting, but they appear to be as-made, rather than post mint damage. A fantastic gold specimen, truly worthy of the Novodel title, that we anticipate will catch the eye of a considerable number of suitors upon viewing.
