1922 Grant Half Dollar, MS65
Scarcer With Star Variant

1922 50C Grant With Star MS65 PCGS. This commemorative issue, struck to recognize the centennial of Ulysses S. Grant's birth year, saw the production of two distinct varieties: the With Star and the No Star. This type, with an incuse star added to the obverse design, directly above the N in GRANT, had a minuscule distribution of 4,256 pieces and is much scarcer than its No Star counterpart, distributed to the tune of 67,405 coins. This untoned Gem example is boldly rendered and highly lustrous, with typical swirling die polish lines noted in the obverse fields. Both sides are blemish-free.(Registry values: N2998)
