Description
Nasrid of Granada. Muhammad V gold Dinar ND (AH 755-794 / AD 1354-1391) MS61 NGC, A-411, Vives-2170. 4.66gm. The Nasrids of Granada were an Arab dynasty that ruled the Emirate of Granada (in modern day Spain) from 1232 until 1492; they were the last Muslim dynasty in the Iberian Peninsula. Coinage, especially the gold Dinars, from this dynasty are generally scarce, and occasionally rare. Though most issues minted under Muhammad V are not especially rare on the whole, this type is elusive and highly desirable in the present Mint State condition. Here at Heritage, we seldom encounter Nasrid coinage, which most frequently appears for auction at one of the Spanish auction houses; so we are thrilled to present this beautiful Islamic Dynasties specimen to our collector base.Metal: Gold
Diameter: 33mm
Estimate: $8,000 - $10,000.
