Description
Gelderland. Provincial gold Cavalier d'Or (Gold Rider) 1615 MS61 PCGS, KM18, Fr-240, Delm-651 (R2). 9.93 gm. MO AVR PRO CONFOE - BELG GEL. Equestrian figure of knight above arms in inner circle / CONCORDIA RES PARVAE CRESCVNT. Crowned arms in inner circle, date at top. An early rendition of the famous Dutch "Rider" motif, presented here in gold, from the Gelderland province. Heritage has offered very few examples from this series, much less so than it's 1/2 denomination counterpart, in it's history; but this will be the first of this particular date ever to surface with our firm. Not only that, but this specimen is currently the only representative of the 1615 Gelderland issue available from either of the major grading companies. A rare treat for enthusiasts of this classic series.Metal: Gold
Diameter: 38mm
Estimate: $8,000 - $10,000.
