Description

Ottoman Empire. Muhammad V gold 500 Kurush AH 1327 Year 3 (1911/1912) MS65 NGC, Constantinople mint, KM758, Fr-50. A singularly phenomenal example of this large Turkish gold emission, produced under Muhammad V in the years prior to the onset of World War I. Not a single other NGC certified specimen from within the entire series approaches the Gem assignment found here, the closest competitor being a 63+ from regnal Year 2. Rich, satin luster washes over the brilliant yellow gold surfaces, yielding minimal chatter and even fewer abrasions. The Louis Eliasberg provenance should help propel this selection to monetary heights rarely achieved from this series.
