Description

George VI gold Proof Sovereign 1937 PR63+ Cameo PCGS, KM859, S-4076. Mintage: 5,500. Always a popular date for British collectors as the inaugural year of George VI's reign following the abdication of Edward VIII. Wholly deserving of its "+" and "Cameo" designations as this particular piece exudes a superior aesthetic caliber, the sun-yellow planchet imbued with a pleasing, warm cabinet tone and wonderful, as-struck detail reveals only trivial instances of marks, likely precluding this from finer designations. Regardless, the coin at hand would be a wonderful addition to any collection.
