1798 S-161 Cent, AU55
Style One Hair
1798 1C First Hair Style, S-161, B-22, R.2, AU55 NGC. Ex:
Col. Ellsworth Collection. The obverse is glossy medium-brown
speckled with dark olive brown and reddish-chocolate tones; the
reverse is glossy dark olive brown and steel. Just minor contact
marks and no roughness, but the speckled toning on the obverse is a
distraction. M-LDS, Breen state IX, with die cracks on both sides
and cud breaks at TATES. Graded VF35 net VF25 and tied for CC#20 in
the Noyes census, his photo #21724. This piece has a wonderful
