Description

1859 Gold Dollar, MS66
Frosty CAC Condition Rarity

1859 G$1 MS66 PCGS. CAC. A substantial mintage exceeding 168,000 coins renders the 1859 gold dollar readily collectible in many grades, although coins as fine as MS66 are conditionally rare, especially with CAC endorsement as seen here. This piece displays frosty luster and rich orange-gold hues, with a bold strike to complement. A few light marks on the obverse are all that prevent an even finer grade. Population: 13 in 66 (3 in 66+), 6 finer. CAC: 9 in 66, 4 finer (8/25).(Registry values: N2998)
