Description

1900-S Barber Half Dollar, MS64
Better San Francisco Issue

1900-S 50C MS64 PCGS. The 1900-S is a scarcer date in the Barber half dollar series, seldom offered in any Mint State grade. This Choice example represents one of the more often seen grades, although it is still rare this fine, and higher-grade pieces are few and far between. Satiny luster complements a bold strike, save for the usual softness on the eagle's right (facing) shoulder and shield corner. Dusky steel-gray, olive, and gold toning attests to the originality of the surfaces. Population: 24 in 64 (1 in 64+), 14 finer (6/23).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24MB, PCGS# 6488, Greysheet# 6595)

Weight: 12.50 grams
