1837 Reeded Edge Half Dollar, MS63
GR-18, Collectible 50 CENTS Reverse Type
1837 50C GR-18, R.1, MS63 PCGS. Extensive die cracks around
each side and a die chip on the shield confirm the variety. This is
the second and only collectible issue in the two-year Reeded Edge
half dollar subtype with 50 CENTS reverse. This brilliant Condition
Census example is boldly struck with bright, frosty luster. Merging
is apparent around the reverse denticles, and grade-limiting
abrasions are inconsequential.Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 531065, Base PCGS# 6176)
