Though Carson City coined a six-figure mintage of 1873-CC half dollars before the Coinage Act of 1873 became law, most of those coins were either melted down or lost to attrition after the new weight standards took effect. This example is medium-gray at the margins with lighter interiors and gold and peach overtones. Population: 6 in 45, 26 finer (11/11).(Registry values: N1793)
