1652 Pine Tree Shilling, AU53
Large Planchet, Noe-10
1652 Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet, No Pellets, Reversed N,
Noe-10, W-750, Salmon 8-Diii, R.3, AU53 PCGS. CAC. 71.0 grains.
No Pellets at Trunk. A lustrous example bathed in apple-green and
rose-red toning. The surfaces are minimally abraded and display the
S-shaped wave characteristic of rocker press coinage. Parallel
lines near MAS were on the planchet before the strike. Straight
edge clips at 2 and 9 o'clock are as issued, performed by the
Boston Mint. A "bird's nest" die break is present on the center
right of the tree, and is usual for Noe-10. Listed on page 9 of the
