Description
1896 Barber Half Dollar, MS65
Rarely Seen Finer
1896 50C MS65 PCGS. The 1896 Barber half dollar is not as
elusive in circulated grades as its mintage of 950,000 pieces would
suggest, but examples in MS65 condition are rare, and finer coins
are very rare. This delightful Gem displays sharply detailed design
elements and well-preserved, lustrous surfaces. The brilliant
centers yield to attractive shades of greenish-gold and magenta at
the peripheries. Population: 14 in 65, 6 finer (5/16).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24LV, PCGS# 6474, Greysheet# 6557)
