1880-S $1 MS68 Prooflike NGC. The 1880-S Morgan dollar is an ideal candidate for a silver type collection, particularly with the outstanding quality of the present coin. Icy motifs contrast with mirrored fields. The hair above the ear lacks a full strike, but the preservation is remarkable. A small rim flaw (as made) is noted on the obverse at 8:30. The NGC insert bears the signature of well-known Guide Book editor Kenneth Bressett. Census: 11 in 68 (1 in 68 ) Prooflike, 0 finer (7/19).(Registry values: P1, N1793)
