1908-D $20 No Motto MS65 PCGS....
Description
1908-D No Motto Twenty, MS65
Well Defined and Lustrous
1908-D $20 No Motto MS65 PCGS. Short Rays Obverse. Copious
luster emanates from the surfaces of this orange-gold Gem, which
has eye appeal in spades in addition to its wide popularity as a
type coin to represent the No Motto issues. While near-Gems are
seen with regularity, Gems of this issue are elusive. PCGS has
certified only 16 examples finer than the present coin, plus
another seven examples in 65+ (8/25). This is a richly colored
orange-gold Gem with frosty, finely grained surfaces, a sharp
strike, and rolling cartwheel luster. A few tiny marks do not
distract in the least from the abundant eye appeal.Ex: U.S. Coins Signature Auction (Heritage, 10/2009), lot 1841. (Registry values: N4719)
