Description

1883-CC Ten Dollar, AU55
Better Carson City Emission

1883-CC $10 AU55 NGC. Winter 1-A. The 1883-CC has a mintage of only 12,000 pieces, and among the few hundred survivors, only a handful are known in Mint State. This briefly circulated almond-gold representative has a good strike and relatively few field abrasions. Moderate marks on the portrait do not deny the eye appeal. On the reverse, a faint vertical streak of struck-in grease passes through the first T in TRUST. Winter 1-A is one of four die pairs for the 1883-CC, distinguished by a wide mintmark and a few delicate die lines within the eagle's shield. Census: 50 in 55, 33 finer (10/25).(Registry values: N2998)
