Description

1850 N-11 Cent, PR64 Brown
Only Eight Known Proofs

1850 1C PR64 Brown PCGS. N-11, R.7 as a Proof. Grellman Die State a, as are all proof 1850 N-11 cents. Denis Loring's proof large cent census indicates that only eight proof 1850 N-11 cents are known. In addition, a single possible proof example of 1850 N-9 is known. As usual for these proofs, this example has reflective fields but lacks the deeply mirrored surfaces of most proof coins. The strike is sharp with blue-green patina on the obverse, and similar reverse toning accompanying original mint red. A small corrosion spot is located at the top of the 85 in the date. Our EAC grade PR55.
