Description

1868 Dime, MS66
Tied for Finest Known

1868 10C MS66 NGC. This better Philadelphia issue had a significant mintage of 464,600 pieces but a low survival rate, especially in high grades. Only two pieces have been so graded by NGC (and two by PCGS) with none certified finer (8/10). This is an all-white coin with bright, semireflective fields ad splendid mint luster. The surfaces are so clean it actually would be possible to count the few reeding marks that are present. Exceptional quality.
