1799 Draped Bust Dollar, VF35
7x6 Stars, B-21, BB-169 Variety
1799 $1 7x6 Stars, B-21, BB-169, R.3, VF35 NGC.
Bowers-Borckardt Die State IV. Some slight die roughness below star
1 and the position of the right side of A in STATES above a cloud
junction identifies the BB-169 variety. From a late state of the
dies, this Choice VF specimen shows prominent die cracks through
the date and above OF AME on the reverse. Some parts of the drapery
are worn smooth on the left side, but much interior detail remains
intact in Liberty's hair. The lightly abraded surfaces are
blanketed in attractive shades of lavender-gray and golden-brown
