Dotted Date Variety
1800 $1 Dotted Date, B-14, BB-194, R.3, VF20 NGC. Prominent
die rust that surrounds the first 0 in the date is the namesake of
this variety. Both sides are light gray with faint hairlines from
an old cleaning that is not a concern for the early dollar
enthusiast. Virtually ever early dollar shows some evidence of
cleaning. This is an important mid-grade example with prominent
