Description

1875-CC Twenty Dollar, MS62
Attractive Carson City Type Coin

1875-CC $20 MS62 NGC. Variety 1-B. The 1875-CC is one of the few options for type collectors seeking an accessible Mint State Type Two double eagle from Carson City. Several hundred pieces survive in Uncirculated grades, mainly in MS61 and MS62. Finer than this, the 1875-CC becomes conditionally rare.

This example is among the more attractive MS62 coins that we have seen. Vibrant, frosty luster illuminates tangerine-gold surfaces, while grade-limiting abrasions are minor. The strike is bold. It has been more than three years since we last handled a finer example of this popular Carson City issue.(Registry values: N4719)
