Description

1878-CC $1 MS65 PCGS. VAM-9, EDS. The obverse of this first-year Morgan dollar is sharply struck, but the lower reverse shows incomplete detail, possibly due to a clogged die. The well-preserved surfaces are lustrous and appealing. The mintmark is high and tilted right and the fourth star from the bottom on the right side has a broken tip, identifying the popular VAM-9.(Registry values: P4, N1793)
