1869 Shield Nickel, PR67 Cameo
Nicely Contrasted, Rare Thus
1869 5C PR67 Cameo NGC. With a proof mintage estimated
between 850 and 1,100 pieces, finding an 1869 proof nickel is not
much of a problem. It is a BIG problem to locate one in Superb Gem
condition and with cameo contrast. Combining the certification from
both of the major services, only three pieces have been so graded
(1 at PCGS, 2 at NGC). This seemingly brilliant proof shows just
the faintest trace of golden color when closely examined. Fully
