Description
1878-S Morgan, MS67
Exemplary CAC Example
Only One Coin Finer at PCGS
1878-S $1 MS67 PCGS. CAC. Ex: JCS Collection. Although
plentiful in most Mint State grades, the 1878-S Morgan suddenly
becomes a major condition rarity at the Superb Gem level. CAC coins
in this grade are all the more rare. Offered here is a coin worthy
of the most discerning collector. With only one finer piece
certified at PCGS, its quality is nearly unsurpassed. Every minute
detail in Liberty's hair and the eagle's breast and talons is
brought up, cast in frosty original mint luster that is without
abrasion. Tinges of warm golden toning emerge from the peripheries,
but the majority of this fantastic first-year Morgan is brilliant.
A rarity this fine and of the utmost importance. Population: 37 in
67 (2 in 67+), 1 finer; 0 in 67 Prooflike, 2 finer. CAC: 16 in 67,
0 finer (7/19).From The Shucart Family (JCS) Collection of Morgan Silver Dollars. (Registry values: P2, N2998)
